Kayla’s Luscious Lemon Bars

Cuz who doesn’t like a good lemon bar!

Crust Ingredients

1 cup butter (2 sticks)
2 cups flour
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1/4 tsp salt

Filling Ingredients

5 large eggs
Grated zest of 1 lemon
5 tbsp fresh lemon juice
2 cups sugar
5 tbsp flour
Powdered sugar (for dusting)

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. In a medium bowl, blend together butter, 2 cups flour, 1/2 cup powdered sugar, and salt until well combined.
  3. Press mixture firmly and evenly into a 13×9-inch glass baking dish.
  4. Bake the crust for 20 minutes at 350°F.
  5. While the crust bakes, lightly beat the 5 eggs in a bowl. Whisk in the lemon zest, lemon juice, granulated sugar, and 5 tbsp flour until thoroughly mixed.
  6. Pour the lemon mixture over the warm crust.
  7. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 20 minutes.
  8. Allow to cool completely, then dust generously with powdered sugar before slicing and serving.
